Our focus & services - Cost transparency
The remuneration of the lawyers complies with – if nothing to the contrary has been agreed upon – the Law on the Remuneration of Lawyers (Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz, RVG) of 5 May 2004 (Federal Law Gazette I, p. 718).
According to the Law on the Remuneration of Lawyers, the compensation for legal services provided by lawyers is worked out on the basis of the value of the legal matter, i.e. the value of the economic interest, as well as the type, the scope and the difficulty degree of the matter.
Since that Law mainly focuses on the case itself to calculate the rate, its implementation in economic and corporate affairs is rarely appropriate, because the lawyer services necessary in these fields require the adoption of a holistic approach, which is not taken into account in the RVG.
In this context and depending on the task, we agree with our clients on a remuneration of
● a fee calculated on the duration of work, on the basis
of our usual hourly rates
from €175 to €350, plus statutory VAT,
● a flat-rate fee, provided the nature of the assignment allows it,
● the statutory basis fixed by the RVG.
Our goal is, in all cases, to reach a transparent and predictable fee system in terms of costs and benefits for our clients.
